The Harlan Company, Inc. announces the acquisition of Symtec, Inc. “The Outdoor Comfort Company”

Fridley, MN, August 12, 2010: The Harlan Company, Inc. today announced that it has completed the acquisition of powersports supplier Symtec, Inc. from Roland Knapton. The Harlan Company now owns 100% of Symtec.

Symtec’s stellar reputation, trend setting products, and strong relationships with distributors, manufacturers, and dealers form a strong foundation for future growth of Symtec and The Harlan Company,” said Riley Harlan, president of The Harlan Company, Inc.
Symtec’s primary product lines are heated grips, seat heaters, and other comfort accessories for motorcycles, ATVs, and snowmobiles. Symtec also sells heated motorcycle grips under the Heat Demons brand name via dealers, and online.
“In the short term, our primary focus will be on expanding sales and marketing to inform people on how our comfort products improve the riding experience ” Harlan added. “Symtec has earned the trust of our customers by producing high quality products, and delivering excellent customer service. Having these elements in place allows us to focus on growth with confidence.”
