Scorpion Stunters Headline X Games Exhibition

by on 14/07/10 at 9:41 pm

(Lake Forest, CA July 14, 2010) Heads up! X Games 16 kicks off at the end of this month with a change of venue to the Los Angeles Coliseum for the Moto X Freestyle and Super X competition. The move to this historic Olympic facility also created an opportunity for a special “X-hibition” for the top riders in the Streetbike Stunting Championship series. Scorpion-sponsored Stunters such as Eric “E-Brake” Pettit (who just won the last XDL round in Los Angeles), Chris “Teach” McNeil, Josh Borne, Billy “Hollywood” Wynn and “Sick” Rick Hart are expected to headline the exhibition starting on July 29th.

“Although not part of the official TV programming on ESPN, this is a very positive step in getting freestyle stunting added to the X Games in the future,” explains Scorpion’s marketing/media relations gal Suzie Kirby. “They are expecting 50,000+ people to be at the Coliseum for the kick-off festivities, so that is a nice crowd to play to.” However, since the X Games opportunity was added after the 2010 season was already in progress, the XDL appearance at the LA Coliseum will not count toward the points championship or be a part of any of the official programming.

A number of the nation’s top freestyle stunters rely on EXOskeletal protection from Scorpion, including top contender Chris “Teach” McNeil on the factory BMW who heads the list of XDL competitors wearing Scorpion helmets (get the heads up at www.teachtrix.com).

There is a host of others covered in Scorpion ExoWear, including Josh Borne who competes in Scorpion helmets, pants, gloves and jackets (www.joshborne.com), Aaron Twite, who wears Scorpion helmets, jacket and gloves (www.aarontwite.com) as well as Eric “E-Brake” Pettit who wears Scorpion helmets, jackets and gloves (www.e-brakestunts.com).
