Indianapolis, IN (May 12, 2010)–The United States Auto Club (USAC Racing), in conjunction with its corporate sponsors in the TRAXXAS Off-Road Championship, announce plans for an unprecedented PRO Light Series season purse.
Traxxas, The Fastest Name in Radio Control® has joined forces with TORC to raise the PRO Light series purse to historic levels. Racers will be competing for the largest cash purse the PRO Light class has ever experienced. Top spot on the podium for each race pays $5,000, $2,500 for 2nd, $1,500 for 3rd, and continues to pay on down to the 10th spot. There’s also an additional $1,000 Traxxas Maxx® Lap cash payout to the driver of the fastest lap in each round. That makes each race weekend worth nearly $30,000 in cash rewards for the PRO Light class alone.
Also new for 2010 is the PRO Light limited and sealed V8 crate engine program announced in December that provides a low cost engine choice that can race equally alongside the current 4-cylinder power plants. The TORC Series makes its season debut in Antigo, WI June 5-6 for the Sportsman Divisions, and the Pro Series kicks off at the “Big House” in Crandon, WI on June 19-20.
Series sponsors include TRAXXAS, AMSOIL, Monster Energy, Kumho Tires, KMC Wheels, Oakley, Ford Trucks, and BF Goodrich Tires. Additional series sponsors and major announcements are expected as the season progresses.
USAC is the most diverse motorsorts organization in the country today, sanctioning Silver Crown, Sprint Cars, Midget Racing, .25 Quarter Midgets, Bonneville Salt Flat Land Speed records, Off Road racing, as well as partnerships with the Pikes Peaks International Hill Climb and the Fireball Run Adventure Rally.
