Josh Strang Maintains Points Lead at Mountain Ridge GNCC

Somerset, PA – May 25, 2010 – FMF Makita Suzuki’s Josh Strang started strong and recovered after a second-lap fall at the Moose Mountain Ridge GNCC. Strang finished seventh at the end of the nearly three-hour race, but he remains positive about his chances of earning the championship. Strang built an early lead in the series with a four-win streak, and he continues to hold the top spot in the standings with a four-point lead over the class.

The young Australian got off to a solid start on his 2010 RM-Z450, and ran as high as third on the first lap. The problems began at the start of the second lap, when Strang went down in the mud. “I got a good start, and my RM-Z was running really well,” said Strang. “I crashed at the start of the second lap, and had a few more after that. It just wasn’t a very good race for me.”

Despite his difficulties with the track, Josh pushed hard and placed seventh in his class. The finish didn’t get Strang down however, as he is still optimistic about his chances of winning the championship. “It was a bad time to have a bad race, but we’ve got everything dialed in now, “said Strang. “Hopefully I can get a good start at the next race and keep it up front.”

With the power of the 2010 RM-Z450 at his disposal, Josh shouldn’t have much trouble getting a great start at the next race. The powerful engine combined with the snappy response of the electronic fuel-injection system on the RM-Z gives Josh a definitive edge over anyone still using a carburetor.

The next round of the 2010 GNCC season will take place on June 5-6 at the John Penton held at Sunday Creek Raceway in Millfield, Ohio.
