St. Cloud, MN (4/29/2010) - Warnert Racing’s Adam McGill put on a hard charge to take the number two spot on the podium at round number five of the 2010 GNCC series, while Bryan Buckhannon, Cliff Beasley, and Michael Swift all took wins in the morning utility classes.

Rain and mud was the name of the game for Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, but all went well for Adam McGill, who’s Warnert Racing Can-Am DS450 powered him through even the toughest parts of the course.

McGill was in the top five off the start and shortly into lap two, McGill took over the lead. “I had a decent start and I stayed with the lead pack for the first lap and then I saw an opportunity to take the lead, so I went for it,” said McGill.

In the final lap, McGill would connect with Chris Borich, which would cause McGill to fall back to second where he would finish with a time of 01:44:20. “It was really more about survival out there for this round. This is my third podium this year and I am hoping for a lot more,” McGill stated.

Warnert Racing’s Michael Swift came back with a vengeance for round five as he charged his way to the number one spot in the 4×4 Limited class to take the win with a time of 01:54:13. “I’m back on top. That’s what I wanted to accomplish, so I am happy with how everything went out there,” said Swift, who still holds the 4×4 Limited class points lead.

Bryan Buckhannon also was on a mission for round five and after a good battle with Daryl Rath, powered his way to his third 4×4 Open win of the season, which allowed him to take over the points lead. “It was a really good race for us. I was third off the line but I rode smart and chose good lines so I was able to take the lead in lap three and hang on to it all the way to the checkered flag,” Buckhannon said.

Cliff Beasley, who has adjusted quite well to the U2 class this year, claimed his fifth straight win of the season and sits securely in the points lead. “I’m doing my best to win another championship for the Can-Am Warnert team this year,” said Beasley, who finished fourth overall in the morning classes.

Round six of the 2010 GNCC series will be heading to Yadkinville, NC on May 8th, where Adam McGill and Chris Bithell will both be in the hunt for the podium.
