Carson City, Nevada – December 30, 2009 – Determination and Enthusiasm. These are just a few words that describe the drive behind Red Dragon’s Racing Co-Founder and Driver Dave Schneider. Racing in the newly formed Ultra4 class in the Best in the Desert Series, Dave Schneider has earned the 2009 Ultra4 points championship.
The 2009 Ultra4 racing season culminated this month at the BITD Henderson Fabtech Desert Classic, in Henderson Nevada. The team knew simple arriving at the starting line was enough to clench the point’s championship for 2009, but charged off the line into the Nevada Desert to ensure there place in desert racing history.
Racing the full season in a 2009 S&N Fab Bravo Eleite, Schneider demonstrated his determination to win the innagural series championship, in trying to keep the car versitile for both rock sport’s event’s such as King of the Hammers, and the Grand Slam of Off Road Racing Series was nearly forced to miss the final race of the season due refining the car for the 2010 King of the Hammers, only two months away. It took an amazing team effort by the Red Dragon’s Racing team to even to make the last race of the season.
Perhaps one of the most impressive performances of the season was at the BITD Vegas to Reno, the innagural race for the Ultra4 class, when he was handed a wounded race car by team mate Jeff Knoll 3rd place in class, while unsure how far the car would make it, pushed on to race the remaining 171 miles of the first day in under 4 hours, winning the first stage by over 2 hours.
Schneider commented, “We pushed the car probably harder than a “rock crawler” had ever been pushed. We are proud that great manufactors such as BFGoodrich Tires, Bilstein Shocks, Superior Axle, Trail Gear and Vision X Lighting who choose to partner with us this season and have treated us well all season long.” This championship is a testament to the strength of our race team partners and the incredible products that they continue to develop. Shaffer’s Offroad has worked hard all year long preparing, and upgrading the car and have really been a key in helping to secure the championship season. BITD and HammerKing Productions really have put together a great class and racing series. Next season is going to be even better. I’ve been racing in BITD my entire career and it doesn’t get any better than this.”
“Winning this championship has been a goal since the class was first annouced, and making it happen has been a dream come true. We are already looking towards to defending our championship in the 2010 season that starts is only a month,” said Schneider
